Import from Photos, Files or any app
Getting files in should be easy. Getting them out of the camera roll should be complete.
In short
Latent imports from your photo library, from the Files app and from the share sheet of any app. When importing from Photos you can delete the originals, and Latent reminds you that iOS keeps deleted photos in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days — so you can empty it too.
Key takeaways
- One “+” button: library, camera, files.
- Share Extension: send to Latent from any app.
- An explicit reminder about the Recently Deleted album.
Three ways in
- From your photo library, with the option to delete the originals afterwards.
- From the Files app, for documents and any other file.
- From any app, through the share sheet.
The step most vault apps leave out
Deleting a photo on iPhone does not delete it. It moves to the Recently Deleted album, where it stays for up to 30 days. A vault that imports your photos and quietly “deletes” the originals has left a full copy in plain view.
Latent tells you this at the moment it matters, right after import, so the private copy is the only copy.
Large imports
Imports show their progress and can be cancelled at any time. Thumbnails are generated and encrypted as each file comes in.
