Secure camera
The safest copy of a photo is the only one.

In short
Latent’s camera captures photos directly into the open vault. They are encrypted as they are saved and never appear in the Photos app, iCloud Photos or Recently Deleted — there is no original to delete afterwards.
Key takeaways
- Captured straight into the vault.
- Never in the camera roll, so never synced by iCloud Photos.
- Nothing to clean up afterwards.
Why not take the photo and import it
A photo taken with the Camera app lands in your library, starts syncing to iCloud Photos within seconds, and may appear in Memories, widgets or search before you have had time to move it. Importing it afterwards leaves a copy in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days.
Capturing inside Latent skips all of that. The photo only ever exists encrypted.
Good uses
- Identity documents, before you hand them over or after you receive them.
- Medical documents and prescriptions.
- Anything you would not want to scroll past in front of someone.
